The Pacman has always been impressive, but last night he took it to a new level in my eyes. I don’t care what anyone says, David Diaz is no slouch, he’s tough as hell, and he’s bigger and stronger than most of the fighters Manny has previously faced.
Pacquiao’s performance can be summed up in three words, speed, speed, and speed. His speed was just incredible. Really, the whole package was incredible. Manny has it all, blazing speed, power, great footwork and head movement, and pretty much anything else you need to be a world class boxer. The Pacman is one of the elites in boxing to be sure, maybe one of the best ever, and on top of it he’s a classy guy too.
Diaz has nothing to be ashamed of either. Even though he was totally out-classed as far as skill goes, he showed tremendous heart to take that kind of beating and frustration and still keep coming. The guy has no quit in him, period.
Overall, I’d say it was a very entertaining, though one-sided fight. Normally, fights this one-sided are not very entertaining, but Manny’s performance was just so impressive, it didn’t matter.

It seems that Speaker of the House Pelosi is not too keen on free speech, she supports bringing back the “Fairness Doctrine.” Stalinists love to disguise their schemes that lead us further down the path towards tyranny with innocuous sounding names like this. Afterall, who isn’t for “fairness?”
From here:
The speaker of the House made it clear to me and more than forty of my colleagues yesterday that a bill by Rep. Mike Pence (R.-Ind.) to outlaw the “Fairness Doctrine” (which a liberal administration could use to silence Rush Limbaugh, other radio talk show hosts and much of the new alternative media) would not see the light of day in Congress during ’08. In ruling out a vote on Pence’s proposed Broadcaster’s Freedom Act, Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D.-CA.) also signaled her strong support for revival of the “Fairness Doctrine” — which would require radio station owners to provide equal time to radio commentary when it is requested.
and
At a breakfast hosted by the Christian Science Monitor yesterday, I asked Pelosi if Pence failed to get the required signatures on a discharge petition to get his anti-Fairness Doctrine bill out of committee, would she permit the Pence measure to get a floor vote this year.
“No,” the Speaker replied, without hesitation. She added that “the interest in my caucus is the reverse” and that New York Democratic Rep. “Louise Slaughter has been active behind this [revival of the Fairness Doctrine] for a while now.”
and
“Do you personally support revival of the ‘Fairness Doctrine?’” I asked.
“Yes,” the speaker replied, without hesitation
I wonder what Pelosi and the other leftists in charge of the asylum plan to do about ”fairness” on the internet.

Here’s how anyone can overcome writer’s block…Just write! Now you are probably saying WELL I CAN’T WRITE, YOU IDIOT, I HAVE WRITER’S BLOCK. But the secret cure to writer’s block is to just write something. Write anything, write utter garbage and nonsense if you must, but just keep writing. I guarantee that if you keep writing garbage, eventually you’ll write something good. And then you’ll do it again. And again, and then you’ll start to write the good stuff more and more frequently.
When I was younger, I wanted to write fiction, but I utterly sucked at writing. I couldn’t write anything good to save my life. Then after reading Natalie Goldberg’s Writing Down The Bones, which I highly recommend, I decided I would just write.
Now this was back in the days when we used pen and paper to write, so I got a notebook and pen, and I would give myself a time limit, and just write nonstop whatever came out until the time limit was up. I started with five minutes and worked my way up to 20 minutes, sometimes more.
Most of what came out was complete nonsense, all of it was garbage, and it felt ridiculous, but something funny happened. After several weeks of doing this “freewriting” exercise, all of the sudden out of nowhere I started writing these really good poems. I’d never written a poem in my life before then, let alone a good one. And many months later, out of the clear blue one day, I wrote a really nice short story in one sitting.
I pretty much quit writing altogether a long time ago, to focus on work, business, family, etc. But since I started this humble little blog, I realize how difficult it can be at times to write something worth reading. If I want my blog to be good, I’m going to have to start writing bad stuff more often. I’ll try not to publish too much of it though.

Here are my initial thoughts on the TUF Finale, in no particular order.
Diego Sanchez vs. Luigi Fioravanti – Diego’s standup has obviously improved tremendously. But there were elements of Fioravanti’s game that impressed me–His takedown defense and scrambles were great, but he needed to be way more aggressive in the striking department…Easier said than done when you are fighting someone like The Nightmare.
Marvin Eastman vs. Drew McFedries – Poor Marvin, lol. It was over before it started.
Amir Sadollah vs CB Dollaway – I do think CB tapped. I think what probably happened is that he instictively started to tap, and then caught himself. I don’t remember exactly what Forrest said about C.B. during the show, something along the lines of him being too arrogant or cocky. Whatever it was I tend to agree, he seems a little too impressed with himself or somethig and it just rubs me the wrong way. So I didn’t really feel too bad for him and how the fight turned out. That’s not to say of course that it wasn’t a disappointing fight, it was, and anyway, I could be wrong about CB, he might be the nicest guy in the world for all I know.
Dante Rivera vs. Matthew Riddle - Gritty performance by both fighters I thought, but Matt was physically too much for Rivera. I think Riddle has the potential to become a great fighter, and it will be interesting to see what the future holds for him.
Spencer Fisher vs Jeremy Stephens - Great fight. Like Joe Rogan said, these guys are both animals! It was almost a shame there had to be a loser in this one. Equally impressive was Kevin James choking out Rampage and then savagely continuing to drop elbows after Rampage was already asleep.
I don’t know if I saw all the televised fights or not, as my recording was messed up. It seems like I did miss a couple though and I haven’t checked what other blogs are saying about the event, because I don’t like spoilers. If I did miss some, I will catch them and update this post. From what I did see though, I would have to say that overall it wasn’t a very impressive event. But that’s the way it goes sometimes.

The Manny Pacquiao – David Diaz fight is coming up soon, June 28 to be exact. In my mind, there is a damn good chance that this will turn out to be a great fight. I think Pacquiao is heavily favored in the betting, but you can’t really count Diaz out, as he’s a skilled boxer and tough as nails.
It will be interesting to see if the heavy-hitting “Pacman” can knockout Diaz, who’s only been stopped once in his career. It looks to be an exciting fight, and I’m really looking forward to this one!

I’ve read tons of interesting stuff just going through some of the blogs here on wordpress.com. So much good writing on so many different subjects. Anyway, here are three I saw tonight that I enjoyed.
10 Diseases Doctors Miss - A bit dangerous for quasi-hypochandriacs like myself, but very informative nonetheless.
Costa Rica Pics ~ As Promised - Pics of her trip to Costa Rica, including one of her with Charlie Sheen who was there on his honeymoon, lol. I’m jealous…not about Charlie Sheen, but about going to Costa Rica
You can’t make a frittata without breaking some eggs- Well I didn’t really read it, cause I don’t cook. The title caught my eye. But anyway, visually I liked the post, the pictures are nice! Made me hungry though.

I just happened to catch Dominick Dunne’s Power, Privilege, and Justice on Tru TV, and it was about the famous Claus Von Bulow case. I was always fascinated with this case, as I usually am when it comes to notorious crimes and murders, but I hadn’t thought about the Von Bulows in a long time. The show was pretty interesting.
Sunny von Bulow is still in a coma 25 years later! She is 75 years old now. Dunne said that for the first 15 years, her two children made sure her hair and nails were done. He said they and her grandchildren still visit her.

What the hell happened to them? I’m 43 years old, and at the risk of sounding like a real old-timer, talking about the good old days, I must say that generally speaking, movies used to be so much better. My wife and I hardly ever go to the movies anymore. If we do, we usually aren’t excited about it, it’s just something to do.
I think the last movie we were really “dying” to see was No Country for Old Men. But that was the exception to the rule. I think maybe six or seven years ago, and earlier, there was always something good to see. But in the past several years it seems that 95% of the movies that come out are garbage. Or is it just me?
